Ask Zime about your deals, accounts and calls, get prep notes before customer meetings, and receive scheduled answers, all inside Microsoft Teams.
Version 1.1.4, updated 7 October 2026. This guide is for the Teams administrator who installs the app and the people who use it.
Zime brings three things into the place your sales team already works: prep notes before customer meetings, answers about your deals, accounts and calls on demand, and scheduled answers delivered on a cadence you choose.
| Feature | What happens | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Prep notes | Before a customer meeting, Zime sends you a note: what the deal is, what came out of previous calls and what to focus on | Your 1:1 chat with Zime |
| Ask Zime, privately | Type a question in your 1:1 chat with Zime and get an answer from your own Zime data | Your 1:1 chat with Zime |
| Ask Zime in a channel | @mention Zime in a channel post or reply | In that thread, for everyone in the channel |
| Ask about a message | Open a message’s menu, choose Ask Zime about this and ask a question about it | In that thread |
| Ask from the compose box or the search bar | Choose Ask Zime and type your question in a dialog | From a chat or channel the answer appears there; from the search bar it arrives in your 1:1 chat |
| Scheduled answers | Schedule a question in the Zime web app and get the latest answer every day, week or month | Your 1:1 chat with Zime, or a team channel |
Your data, your permissions
Every answer uses the asking person’s own Zime permissions, so nobody sees anything in Teams they couldn’t see in the Zime web app.
Before you start
Your Teams administrator installs Zime once for the whole organisation, in the Teams admin centre. It takes about ten minutes, asks for no permissions, and needs nothing set up in Azure or Microsoft Entra.
Upload the app
Teams apps → Manage apps → Upload new app → choose Zime-Teams-1.1.4.zip.
Install it
Users and groups → Installs → Install app. Add Zime to your sales team and to the people who should get prep notes.
Check it works
Post ‘@Zime what changed in my pipeline this week?’ in a channel. Zime replies in the thread.
Zime is available to everyone by default. To limit it, use Users and groups → Availability.
Optional: let Zime read the thread it’s asked in
Lets Zime read the whole thread when someone @mentions it, so ‘@Zime summarise this thread’ works. A Global Administrator approves it once for the organisation.
Approve thread readingZime only reads a thread at the moment it’s @mentioned there. You can remove the approval any time in Microsoft Entra under Enterprise applications → Zime Notetaker.
Updating later
When Zime sends a new file, your administrator uploads it the same way. Installs update on their own and chats are kept.
You’re done
Zime users in the team now get prep notes before customer meetings, can ask Zime in their 1:1 chat or by @mentioning Zime in the team’s channels, and can schedule answers to Teams.

Ways to ask
In your 1:1 chat: just type the question. Only you see the answer.
In a channel: post or reply with @Zime and your question. The answer appears in that thread for everyone in the channel.
About a message: open the message’s menu, choose Ask Zime about this and type your question. The answer appears in that thread.
From the compose box: click the plus or the three dots in the message box, choose Ask Zime, type your question and click Ask. The answer appears in the chat or channel you were in.
From the search bar at the top of Teams: open Zime, type your question in the dialog and click Ask. The answer arrives in your 1:1 chat, because the search bar has no chat of its own.
Good questions to try
What changed in my pipeline this week? · Summarise my last call with Acme and suggest next steps. · Which deals closing this month have no next meeting scheduled?
Schedule a question once and get the latest answer in Teams on your schedule, for example “What changed in my pipeline this week?” every Monday at 9.
In the Zime web app, ask your question in Ask Zime and choose Schedule.
Under Send to, choose Teams.
Pick Direct message for your 1:1 chat with Zime, or a channel to share it with a team.
Set how often and when, then click Send a test now to see exactly how it will look.
Click Done.
What Zime can see
Messages sent to it in a 1:1 chat, messages that @mention it, a message someone chose Ask Zime about this on, and the names and emails of members of teams it’s added to. With thread reading approved, the thread it’s @mentioned in.
What Zime can’t see
Other channel messages, private chats between people, group chats, and teams it hasn’t been added to.
What Zime posts on its own
Prep notes and scheduled answers in your 1:1 chat, scheduled answers in a channel only when a member of that team set one up, and the one-time welcome post in a new team.
What Zime stores
Your Teams user and organisation ids, what it needs to deliver messages, team and channel names (kept current as channels change), and your Zime sign-in. It doesn’t keep a copy of your Teams messages.
